Longboard Surfing
Longboard surfing is one of the most skillful on water leisure activities. From personal experience, longboard surfing requires great balance and a clever eye that can recognise and anticipate which waves in the distance are likely to become the biggest and therefore the better waves to surf.
For a beginner it can be a strange feeling standing on a longboard on the surface of the water, and that's even if you get to that position after attempting to transfer from lying flat onto knees onto feet without falling off! But once you manage to adopt the right stance you'll be lucky to stay there for a few seconds as the energy from the waves will throw you off if you haven't grasped the proper technique or learnt how to counteract the movements of the longboard. Plus it can get very cold and boring at times while standing or floating in the sea waiting for the next good wave to surf, so longboard surfing can demand patience during the session.
Longboard surfing sounds like a tough leisure activity that only a few experts can enjoy, but it can be an exhilirating achievement whether you're surfing a small wave for 2 seconds or a 20ft wave though its tunnel. So getting lessons while on holiday near a beach or near any local longboard surfing location will guaruntee personal thrills for you and anyone you go with such as friends or family members. Although they can be expensive, anywhere from £20 to £50 per hour depending on location, it is well worth it as the skills taught can be practiced or the lesson can be used as a fun, social leisure activity where you and others can experience the excitement, falls, blunders and surfs of longboard surfing.
